imagine one day, you were suddenly transported to an unfamiliar, inescapable place, surrounded by people you don't kow, all for a prize you didn't understand. how would you feel? would you try your hardest to win, or would you give up and accept your fate?

liam didn't have to imagine.

ONE (also known as hfjONE) is an object show created by Cheesy Hfj after the creation of his first object show, Battle for Circle. ONE is considered to be one of the best object shows ever created (if not the best) due to how it flips the concept of an object show onto its head, creating a hopeless, depressing world within The Plane and putting the show's contestants through psychological stress to the point of losing their.. humanity.

In most object shows, characters have simple names—Bubble, Paper, Phone; their names denote what kind of object they are. but in ONE, that would be considered "dehumanizing", or at least something close to it. The characters have actual, conceivable names—Liam Plecak, Bryce Hansen, Amelia Euler; they have jobs, families, struggles, they're just like real life people (even living in places like San Francisco, CA or Bridgeport, CT,) just as objects.

Those parts of them are stripped away when they're sent to The Plane, their names changed to reflect their outward appearances, signifying them as pawns in a game rather than actual living beings. They're renamed Backpack, Soda Bottle, Scenty, among others. It's as if they weren't living, breathing members of society, and instead just characters for viewers to gawk at and attach themselves to. It doesn't matter who they were before arriving to The Plane, because if they aren't eliminated soon, they'll sure as hell forget. In a show where every character is an object, they are somehow no-longer human.

The Plane is an alternate reality, far detached from Earth and anything the contestants could ever find solace in. Perpetually noon, The Plane has nothing but grass and the endless expanse of it. It isn't cold, and it isn't hot either. Almost... artificial. Just what exactly is The Plane, and how can you escape?

SEASON ONE

FREEFALL

"Six contestants are transported to "The Plane" to compete in a competition for anything they want. Simple enough."

CONTENT WARNINGS: "DEATH" (OF AN ADULT AND INFANT), SLIGHT DEREALITY, BROKEN BONE (LEG), DISSOCIATION

A green backpack named Liam is at work, and one of his co-workers tells him it's time to clock out. Liam leaves on his bike to go home, but as he crosses the Golden Gate Bridge, he vanishes into thin air, leaving nothing but the bike behind. The intro plays.

An infant tomato is seen playing with blocks before his mother sends him off to bed. In his sleep, the baby is teleported to a grassy area in the daytime. The sun is beating down hard. A magazine is seen seemingly gossiping to herself before looking around confusedly and beginning to freak out. Four more characters appear; a scented candle (who simply just looks around), a soda bottle (who has just woken up and believes he's dreaming), a slice of moldy bread (who was in the middle of an argument before being teleported), and Liam, who unceremoniously crashes into the grass.

An unknown voice speaks up, greeting the group of objects by referring to them as "contestants" and themself as "the host", Airy. They tell the contestants that they're all participants in a show called 'ONE', which the contestants are not enthused about in the slightest. Airy refers to the space they're in as 'The Plane', and repeats ad nauseam that the contestants are there "to compete in [their] competition called ONE".

Airy gives all of the contestants new names, which they all dislike, as they want to be referred to using their real names, especially Magazine, who reveals her real name is Taylor.

Left to Right: Tomato, Magazine (real name Taylor), Backpack (real name Liam), Soda Bottle, Moldy, and Scenty.

Soda Bottle complains and asks to be sent back home, prompting Airy to reveal the prize for winning ONE, which is anything their hearts desired.

With introductions and reasoning out of the way, Airy begins the first challenge by dropping wooden stakes into the ground. Oblivious, Tomato sits in the way of a stake, about to crush him. Liam tries to push him out of the way, but fails as Tomato is crushed to death by the wooden stake.

"What happened? WHAT JUST HAPPENED!?"

"I regenerated him. Or, "respawned him" is a better term."

"Wait, so, we can't die here?"

"Yes. As long as you are here, you can't die."

"We-we can't die..."

"Yes.. that's what I just said."

Airy explains the challenge: Don't hit the ground. The first two contestants to fall face elimination. Soda Bottle begins getting upset at Airy, grasping at straws to comprehend the situation the contestants have been put into before the contestants are teleported to the top of the wooden stakes.

Tomato falls immediately, though most of the other contestants are able to balance. Liam ends up falling from his stake, though clings onto Soda Bottle's stake to stay above ground. The remaining contestants begin to talk to each other, discussing where they came from before coming to The Plane. Scenty has a revelation about how the challenge seems made for her due to her job as a yoga instructor, but Soda Bottle shuts down the idea. Airy reveals that ONE is being broadcasted to viewers, and will last for a few months. While Airy is in the middle of their explanation, Liam, Soda Bottle, and Scenty all fall from their stakes, and they all hit the ground. Liam falls on his legs, breaking his left leg, Soda bottle lands on his back, and Scenty lands on her bottom, shattering into pieces and dying.

Airy respawns Scenty, and reveals that Liam hit the ground first and is up for elimination, along with Tomato. As Scenty runs up to Liam to assist him with his broken leg, he begins to dissociate before falling unconscious.

The episode ends with the sound of Tomato giggling.

A post-credits scene appears of a grocery store fridge in the middle of the night. The lights flicker on, and one of the containers of whipped cream vanishes.

JUST TRIPPED

"The remaining 5 contestants are confronted with some things they've never fathomed before."

CONTENT WARNINGS: BROKEN BONE (LEG, IN A CAST)

Liam wakes up slowly, Taylor and Soda Bottle standing above him gratefully. He tries to stand, though his broken leg prevents him from doing so. Airy straightens Liam's leg back into place, giving him a cast and a pair of crutches. He tries to move, but trips and breaks a crutch. Soda Bottle and Scenty help him up, and he syas he'll get used to it.

Soda Bottle laments that he "can't imagine dying in a place like this", leading the contestants to realize that Tomato has gone missing. Before they can get too angry, Airy reveals that Tomato got the most votes and was eliminated.

Airy also reveals that new contestants will be joining the game, much to the contestant's chagrin. In the middle of them arguing with Airy, a subway seat spawns in The Plane, leading to confusion. Five more objects spawn, being a container of whipped cream, a double bass, a container of fried oysters, a contact lens, and a lunch tray.

As the "inanimate" objects wake up, and reveals the purpose of their arrival the same way they already had in the episode prior. The lunch tray introduces herself to Scenty, who reveals her real name is Amelia. The lunch tray is shocked to hear that Amelia has a name, and says that names are "a human thing". The double bass demonstrates to the others how to "go inanimate", much to the shock of Taylor. The container of whipped cream finds it hard to believe that Soda Bottle has a job, and asks "how do you not get caught?"

Airy and the subway seat clear up the confusion, explaining that the new contestants are from another world where greater beings called Humans rule and use them like objects, forced to hide their sentience.

A montage plays displaying what the new conestants were up to before arriving: The subway seat vanished from the subway while being sat on, the double bass was being played before vanishing, the container of fried oysters disappeared from someone's hand, the lunch tray disappeared from a pile of identical trays, the contact lens vanished from someone's eye, and the container of whipped cream is the same one that vanished in the post-credits scene during "Freefall".

Airy gives the new contestants names, much to their excitement.

Left to Right: Subway Seat, Tray, Contact Lens, Airline Food, Bassy, and Whippy Creamy.

Airy reveals the second challenge, which involves climbing the wooden stakes from the episode prior. Moldy finishes first, though the other original contestants are less-than enthused. Liam, Soda Bottle, and Amelia conclude that they won't be participating in the challenge, even after Airy made it easier for them, protesting their want to go home.

While Subway Seat complained that he can't scale the stakes due to his lack of legs, Whippy Creamy and Airline Food were the next ones safe. Before Contact Lens and Taylor could finish climbing, Airy made the wind pick up, causing them both to be blown off of their stakes. Subway Seat tries to move, though trips and falls onto his back. Tray climbs to the top, though falls off.

Amelia continues to refuse to climb the stakes, even after Airy makes them much shorter. Taylor tries to climb one of the small poles, but is stopped by an invisible wall. Contact Lens drifts in the air, stuck from the wind.

Liam accidentally touches the top of his stake, rendering him safe and Soda Bottle and Amelia touch the top of their poles as well.

"Backpack, what happened?"

"Don't worry about it, I just tripped."

"Right, but you tripped on the pole."

"Yeah, I know, it's fine though, we can just wait until next round."

"Are you sure you'll be alright staying another challenge?"

"I mean, it's too late now. It won't be long before the next challenge comes though."

"Okay. Let's do this stupid challenge."

Bassy takes the last safe spot, leaving Contact Lens, Taylor, and Subway Seat up for elimination.

The post-credits features Tomato being teleported back to his cradle, falling asleep soundly.

SCREWBALL

"Tensions rise among The Plane."

CONTENT WARNINGS: BROKEN BONE (LEG, IN A CAST), MENTAL BREAKDOWN, DEREALITY

The episode opens wth a recap from the end of "Just Tripped".

Liam and Amelia wake up from sleep. Taylor sits on the ground with a troubled expression on her face and Amelia goes to her aid. Taylor tells Amelia that she doesn't want to be in The Plane anymore, terrified as she explains how much she misses being at home, having a routine, knowing what would happen each and every day. In the middle of her breakdown, she vanishes, having been eliminated. Amelia snaps at Airy.

"Hey, are you alright?"

"...I don't wanna be here anymore."

"Just a few hours ago, you were super into the competition. Why'd you change your mind?"

"I don't know... I guess at first I didn't really think to notice anything that was going on, but... at this point, this place is starting to freak me out. I don't know what the heck is going on!"

"Yeah, I wish I understood, too. I'm sure you'll be home soon, though."

"Ugh, yeah... I don't- I don't know. At least here, stuff... happens. Back home, it's just more of the same; wake up, go to school, go to work, go home, and go to sleep. I just... I- I just wish I-"

Taylor vanishes.

"Airy, what's wrong with you!?"

"She got eliminated, so I sent her back."

"You could have at least let her finish her sentence!"

Amelia tries to wake up Soda Bottle, but Liam tells her to let him rest.

New contestants are introduced: Atom, Texty, Folder, Abstracty, Stone, and Circle.

Abstracty appearing in The Plane.

Abstracty begins to mimick some of the other contestants, and it's revealed that Stone only communicates in sign langauge due to not having a mouth (signing that they "know everything that has, is and will happen in the entire universe.")

Circle attempts to leave several times (stating that he's "not doing another gameshow"), though is teleported back to where he was standing each time he tries to walk away.

Airy tries to make a sound effect emit from thin air, though nothing happens. Stone forces Soda Bottle out of the way, and a cassette player lands where he was standing, shattering into pieces.

Going back on track, Airy tells the contestants that since there's sixteen of them, they'll have to split into four teams of four. Amelia, Soda Bottle, and Liam agree to be on a team together, and considers letting Stone onto their team. Stone brings Texty along, but forces Amelia off of the team, forming the first team (Liam, Soda Bottle, Stone, and Texty, Team A).

The next team to form is made up of Amelia, Tray, Contact Lens, and Bassy (Team B), who agree to team up in order to lose every challenge and go home quicker. Moldy convinces Circle to be on a team with her, and end up picking up Subway Seat and Whippy Creamy as well, finishing up the team (Team C). Atom, Abstracty, Folder, and Airline Food make up the last team (Team D).

The challenge this time around is to "run to the tree and back". Amelia and the rest of her team agree to just wait out the challenge. While Soda Bottle and Liam talk about how confusing it was for Airy to not let Circle leave, Texty completes the challenge for their team, much to their chagrin.

Amelia relays the previous events to the rest of her teammates, though notices Stone pick up Contact Lens and race towards the tree. Amelia tries to stop him, though it's already too late, and her team wins immunity.

Circle tells Airy that his team already completed the challenge while he wasn't looking, leaving Team D up for elimination.

Airline Food gets confused and assumes Atom's name is Adam, and they ask him what a human is. Folder begins defining what a human is, before switching to defining what an animal is at Atom's request. The episode ends with Folder continuing to prattle on about animals and humans.

The post-credits goes back to when Team B was announced safe, showing Amelia walking up to Team A and complaining about Stone. They begin talking about how hopeless the prospects of leaving truly are, and the video ends with a shot of Stone looking around.

WALLS

"The story unfolds."

CONTENT WARNINGS: BROKEN BONE (LEG, IN A CAST), DEREALITY

Airline Food and Amelia are watching something happen. Liam walks up to them and notices they're looking at Abstracty, who is morphing into something unrecognizable to the contestants and making weird noises. They keep glitching until Airy speaks up, prompting Abstracty to morph into a copper lantern before being eliminated.

Airy introduces the new challenge, which involves drawing on sticky notes. Team B rips up their sticky notes and breaks their received pencil in half.

Stone begins writing furiously on Team A's sticky notes, angering Liam. Stone hands Liam one of the notes, which reads "STONE | 713864950843883218922 158619580770734586267510478086528132279435.1", much to Liam's confusion. Stone tries to get the note back, and Liam can only refuse for a moment before they snatch it back and go back to writing.

Liam watching Stone write on a sticky note.

Atom begins drawing on Team D's sticky notes, though they're quite bad at it and can't draw anything of substance.

Stone begins running over towards the other teams, showing them a sticky note. Team B is busy practicing yoga when they run over, and Amelia convinces them not to pick up the ripped sticky notes.

Running back to Team A, Stone puts all of their sticky notes inside of Liam, zipping him shut as Airy begins judging the teams. It's determined that Team A will be up for elimination (as they had no notes to present), though Amelia counters this by telling Airy that Stone wrote on their sticky notes. Airy dismisses this (since they didn't see it happen), and the episode ends with Amelia breaking down and ranting to Airy about how deranged and incompetent they are.

"Uh... I couldn't actually find any of Backpack's team's sticky notes, which I guess means Scenty's team is safe, because they still have theirs. Which means Backpack's team will be put up for elimination."

"No, Airy, no! I saw> Stone writing on their sticky notes, we should be up for elimination!"

"I didn't see them writing."

"What do you mean you didn't see them?! He was writing on them the entire time, and the only reason you can't see the notes is because Stone stuffed them inside of Backpack!"

"I... didn't see that either."

"Airy, are you blind?? That's all they've been doing this entire time! It baffles me how unbelievably incompetent you are! How hard is it to understand that you've SEPARATED us from our livelihoods to play this maniacal excuse of a gameshow? Just to torture us and keep us from living a life you clearly don't have!"

In the post credits, Amelia lets Stone take the ripped sticky notes, and they begin frantically writing on them. Airy says they're going to eliminate someone, and Stone begins writing faster, throwing the finished sticky notes in the air as they vanish, having been eliminated. The ripped notes fall to the floor, reading:

VOTES ARE FAKE YOU HAVE NO CONTROL

RHETORICAL MOLDS

"Moldy talks about her life before The Plane."

CONTENT WARNINGS: BROKEN BONE (LEG, IN A CAST), DISCUSSION OF HOSPITALS/SURGERY, ARGUING

The challenge is to do 100 push-ups.

Team B and Team D interact with each other casually, and Atom lies to Airy, becoming safe after telling them that they did their push-ups.

Moldy begins doing the push-ups for her team, and reveals that she got so strong by going spelunking. When she lets it slip that she used to go with friends, her teammates convince her to explain why she stopped going (aside from being taken to ONE). She reveals that that's where she got the mold from, and doesn't explain much further.

Moldy and one of her friends spelunking before she got the mold.

Moldy continues with her push-ups, and the rest of Team C pressures her into explaining more about her life. She mentions that the mold removal surgery costs two hundred thousand dollars, a price that she couldn't afford. She explains that she wanted to pay for it on her own, but her friends took pity on her and started giving her money (an act she calls humiliating). She states that once she leaves, she'll use her own hard-earned money to pay for the procedure herself.

Moldy finishes her push-ups, leaving Team A and Team B as the last two teams remaining. Neither team does anything, though, and both are put up for elimination.

The post-credits is a flashback to Moldy in her house, when the friend she used to spelunk with, revealed to be named Parker, enters. Moldy's name is revealed to be Charlotte as they start talking to each other. Parker looks up, noticing a big flat screen TV mounted on the wall, making a remark about its size. Charlotte responds enthusiastically about it, though her mood drops slightly when he asked how she was able to afford it. She tells him that she used her own money, trying to switch the subject to her new phone. Parker isn't as enthused, worried about how she's spending her money on luxuries instead of putting it towards her surgery. After asking for his money back from her, he realizes that she spent all of her friends' money on everything but her mold treatment. They begin arguing, and Parker reveals that Charlotte getting mold was entirely her fault, along with other spelunking related injuries.

"I swear, Charlotte, you are so full of yourself! And none of this wouldn’t have even happened if you’d actually read the signs on the Silo Cavern! We pointed them out several times to you, but you insisted, you kept on going even when you knew there was mold down there! First, you get a piece of your head ripped off because you wouldn’t wear a helmet, and now this? You can’t keep doing this-"

"Doing what, Parker? Living my life how I want to?"

"And cheating us out of our money? Yes! We didn’t give you that money so you could squander it on electronics."

"The moment you gave me that money, you told me to use it on what’ll help me out when I deliberately said I didn’t need it."

"THEN WHY DID YOU TAKE THE MONEY?!"

"You know why?! Because you guys thought it was a great idea to completely humiliate me!"

Charlotte begins playing the victim, claiming that Parker and her other friends are only giving her money in order to look like good people. Parker apologizes, and just asks her to pay him back. Charlotte begins mocking Parker, but doesn't get very far, as she's teleported to The Plane before she can finish.

LA SALLE D'ATTENTE

THE WAITING ROOM

"Quelqu'un périt."

Someone perishes.

CONTENT WARNINGS: BROKEN BONE (LEG, IN A CAST), DROWNING, "DEATH" (OF AN ADULT), DEREALITY, MENTAL BREAKDOWN

Team B are engaging in casual conversation, reminiscing about their time before going to The Plane. Tray remarks that the viewers should be voting for Amelia, because of how much she wants to leave.

Airy announces the elimination, and Amelia drops to her knees with despair as Texty is eliminated instead of her. She sobs to Liam and Soda Bottle, unable to comprehend how the viewers wouldn't vote for her. Soda Bottle tries to explain to her how the votes are faked, but is cut off by Airy dropping a large wooden stump full of water into The Plane.

Airy reveals the challenge, being to stay afloat in the pool of water. Their voice fades out as Liam zones out, simply saying: "Help me get the cast off."

Amelia and Soda Bottle run over to help, yelling at Airy to stop counting down to their inevitable teleportation. They fail to remove the cast in time, and Liam sinks to the bottom. Amelia dives into the water to rescue him as Soda Bottle tries to do the same, but his bouyancy prevents him from doing so.

Liam drowning while Amelia tries to save him.

Despite Amelia's rescue attempt, Liam loses consciousness, drowning in the pool.

He comes to in a sunset-colored room, sitting down in an armchair. His broken leg is mended. There's a table between his chair and another, which houses another object, being a tube of toothpaste, silently turning a knob on a radio. The other person is unaware of Liam's presence, and Liam sits there in silence before suddenly respawning in The Plane.

Airy's voice is the first thing he hears as he returns, stating that both him and Soda Bottle are up for elimination. His leg is completely fine, though he looks off into the distance. Soda Bottle and Amelia rush over to Liam, their voices overlapping as they ask him if he's okay and beg him to respond. He stays unresponsive, staring into seemingly nothing as the outro music distorts.

In the post-credits, Liam and Soda Bottle are talking to each other, first talking about what happened before they went to The Plane, then switching topics to what Liam saw when he died. Liam confusedly tries to explain what happened to Soda Bottle, though they don't come to any conclusions during the conversation. The mood lowers when they realize this is the last time they'll talk to each other.

"Since we’re both up for elimination, you realize that this is probably the last time we ever talk to each other, right?"

"I haven’t really thought about it very much. It’s been a while since I haven’t felt completely scatterbrained. I keep thinking about how life really isn’t going to be the same after this."

"I don’t think we really… like to think about it."

Liam makes a comment about how the grass in The Plane is always pointing towards the sun before Airy speaks up, their voice cutting off.

STARTING OVER

"Things happen."

CONTENT WARNINGS: ALCOHOL, DISSOCIATION, HALLUCINATIONS

Soda Bottle is at home, waking up before eating breakfast (cereal with water) and going to work. When he arrives at his job, his co-worker tells him he needs to go speak with their boss.

Soda Bottle in his apartment.

His boss docks his pay and cuts his hours, and the next scene shows Soda Bottle in the parking lot, angrily shaking his steering wheel. Instead of going home, he goes to a bar, drinking several bottles of beer before heading back home. He falls asleep at 9:47 PM, though vanishes at 10:38 PM, being teleported to The Plane.

Back in The Plane, Airy shows the contestants that they figured out how to make clouds. A few of the contestants compliment them, and Airy begins dropping rocks on them to initiate the next challenge: throwing a rock into the pool.

Charlotte throws hers in immediately, rendering Team C safe. Team B continues their plan of not doing anything, though their voices muffle as Amelia stares at Liam, who's uneasily sitting on the floor, left as the last member of Team A. Amelia agrees to teach yoga to the rest of her team.

Airline Food asks Folder to throw the rock for Team D, though they begin listing facts and taking questions literally. Peeved, Airline Food threw the rock at them, though the rock bounced off of them and landed in the pool.

Liam picks up his rock, beginning to dissociate as the background fills with grass behind him. The rock turns into Stone, sticky notes flying around Liam as the hallucination of Stone begins talking to him with a distorted voice. Liam's hallucination ends, and he crumbles to the floor, dropping the rock.

Amelia was watching him the whole time, and the sight of her friend suffering so much makes her act in a way she hasn't before. As Tray tries to talk to her, Amelia throws their rock into the pool, making Team B safe and leaving Liam up for elimination. When asked what she did, Amelia responds with "Something I should've done a while ago."

When questioned, Amelia tells Liam that he doesn't deserve to be there, beginning to ramble.

"Why did you do it?"

"You don't deserve to be here Backpack."

"What?"

"You didn't deserve to see a child impaled by a stake, you didn't deserve to have your leg broken, you didn't deserve to drown! Since the very beginning there has been no one more deserving to leave this hellscape other than you! And it's been 6 eliminations too late for me to finally realise that. I've been selfish to for even a second prioritising my own well being over yours."

"It's okay Scenty. Really."

"It's not, Backpack. I'm done delaying what should've happened long before any of this happened. I'm not sleeping another day here until I see you gone. I really don't wanna be here, I really truly don't, but knowing you're back home, safe, is worth staying here until I'm the last one left."

They both hug and start talking about what Liam plans to do when he goes back home. He tells her that he plans on figuring out exactly who Airy is and what The Plane really is, though she thinks that learning anything about The Plane would be impossible. Their mood starts to lift as they talk about how likely it is for Amelia to get eliminated soon, and the episode ends on a relatively high note.

THE PLUG DREAM

"I can't think of a good description for this one honestly"

CONTENT WARNINGS: GLASS SHATTERING, SOUND OF SOMEONE IN PAIN (ADULT), DEREALITY

Liam and Amelia are sitting together happily when Airy begins to start the elimination, though slips before trying to proceed as normal. As they teleport the contestants into their teams, however, there's an audible thump and the sound of glass shattering as Airy screams in pain. The contestants look around in horror as the noises die down, though nothing happens for several hours.

Liam walks away from where he was, watching the grass point towards the direction he came from before pointing upside-down. On the ground, there's three blue sticky notes spelling out "ONE". Looking up, Liam is terrified to see a giant auxiliary plug plugged into The Plane.

Liam discovering the plug.

Five months later, there's a tally on the stump, in rows of 5 groups of 5 and columns of 4 groups of 5 (totalling 1218 tallies). Amelia is doing yoga with Subway Seat, Tray, and Airline Food before Circle interrupts and asks her if they can start the "work shift" to pull the last stake out of the ground (implying that they already pulled out the other 5). Amelia agrees, and they begin rounding up the other contestants to join the work shift.

Amelia finishes up her yoga lesson, letting Subway Seat complete the 1219th tally on the stump. It's revealed that Bassy hasn't been around since Airy disappeared, and Contact Lense remarks that it's been 900 shifts since then. Charlotte isn't adamant on helping, and the others assume that Liam is still near The Plug.

Instead of being at The Plug, Liam is helping remove the stake from the ground. The group is triumphant in their efforts, glad to finally have the last stake down.

"I'm glad you're back, Backpack."

"Thanks Scenty. I'm sorry that I haven't been as involved before."

"It's okay. I know it was hard to let go. Besides, you're happier this way."

Amelia walks away as Liam smiles at her, though looks away with a frown.

A flashback montage plays of Liam's time around The Plug, showing off the various ways he's tried to remove it (kicking, punching, pulling, scratching, and throwing a cassette tape at it (which breaks on impact)). The Plug is visibly damaged as he leaves, defeated.

Two months later, Liam and Amelia are playing chess together before being interuppted by Airy finally returning. Liam begins to hyperventilate before the scene switches to The Plug, the sound of humming audible.

SCATTERBRAIN

"As dead as leaves."

CONTENT WARNINGS: DISSOCIATION

The other contestants watch as Liam is eliminated.

Liam is teleported back to the same spot he disappeared from, though his bike is missing. He returns to San Francisco, learning that his original place of employment has been put up for lease and finds a newspaper report detailing his disappearance, figuring out that everyone assumes he's dead.

The news report about Liam, reading:

PRESUMED DEAD

Bike was last seen in evening of February 10th on golden gate bridge, no traces of him were found since then.

REPORT ISSUED 3/16

The report is blown out of his hands by the wind as he continues walking, deeply shaken and disturbed. He stops as he walks, beginning to dissociate before contintuing. A piece of hail falls next to him, startling him as he walks into an alleyway. He stands under a light fixture, staring up at the sky before reaching into himself and pulling out the notes he received from Stone during "Walls". He reads them for the first time as lightning flashes in the distance, making the lights above him flicker.

One of the notes has an address on it, which he reads carefully before coming to a conclusion.
